The Manchester Area Pollution Advisory Council (MAPAC) is a regional environmental protection group representing 13 local authorities in the North West of England. In addition, there are members who represent industry, commerce, medical and academic interests within the region. MAPAC acts as an advisory body to the constituent authorities for the purpose of improving the control and reduction of terrestrial, aquatic and airborne pollution, including noise pollution.
